Hearing the voice on the other end call him “Er Lengzi,” Hu Hao instantly knew it was his big brother, Zhang Debiao. He immediately broke down in tears. His throat tightened, rendering him completely unable to speak a single word.
On the other end of the line, Zhang Debiao was the same. His mouth hung open, but no words came out!
“Brother~ Ah, I… I finally… I finally have family again!” Hu Hao cried, tears streaming down his face!
“Mhm, mhm, mhm! Er Lengzi! Er Lengzi, your brother… your brother missed you! I missed you all! I kept thinking, what the hell is this place? Why am I all alone?!” Hearing Hu Hao’s voice, Zhang Debiao managed to steady his emotions slightly and spoke.
“Brother, come to me immediately! Brother, I’m a Commander! Commander of the First Army Group! Come over here, and we brothers will join hands and conquer this world!” Hu Hao wiped his tears with his sleeve and declared.
“Mhm, I’m coming! I’m coming! Leaving things to a little brat like you… Laozi can’t rest easy! With your personality, having you fight wars is fine, but having you manage things is like asking for your life!” Zhang Debiao nodded and agreed!
“Mhm, hehe! That’s why you’re my big brother! Brother, hurry up and get over here!” Hu Hao nodded.
“Mhm!” Zhang Debiao nodded over the phone. Having calmed down, he also knew that there were certain things that couldn’t be said over the line and had to wait until they met in person.
After Zhang Debiao hung up, Hu Hao sat there and wiped his eyes clean. He then opened the door and shouted to Dong Qipeng, “Da Peng, mobilize a squadron from the Special Operations Regiment immediately! Send them to Corps Commander Wu Kexiao’s location. Tell them to protect Zhang Debiao with their lives! If anything happens to Zhang Debiao, I’ll take their heads! If Zhang Debiao arrives safely, I will reward them heavily!”
“Ah, yes, sir!” Seeing that Hu Hao looked as if he had just been crying, Dong Qipeng realized this was likely a massive matter and immediately snapped to attention.
After issuing the order, Hu Hao closed the door.
The staff officers in the command center had no idea what had happened to Hu Hao. However, they knew that this Zhang Debiao must be an incredibly important figure to him; otherwise, Hu Hao would never have acted this way.
Back on Zhang Debiao’s side, he wiped his tears, a wide, joyous smile breaking across his face!
“Brothers, I’m heading over to my little brother’s place! My little brother is the Army Group Commander here! When the time comes, my little brother will avenge you all! Don’t worry about me!
I’ll head over there first and ask him how we should arrange everyone. Just rest easy!” Zhang Debiao addressed his former subordinates.
His men stared at him in shock, unsure of what to say. He had never mentioned having a general for a younger brother before!
Soon, Zhang Debiao stepped outside. Just as he was about to get into a vehicle, he saw a convoy of armored vehicles approaching. A Brigadier General jogged over to Wu Kexiao.
“Corps Commander Wu, I am Zhao Yang. Hao-ge ordered us to escort a man named Zhang Debiao to the command center!” Zhao Yang reported.
“Hmm, Special Forces?” Zhang Debiao observed Zhao Yang, his hands clasped behind his back.
“Yes, sir!” Although Zhao Yang didn’t know who this man was, he replied politely upon hearing him speak.
“This kid… he’s gone and created this again!” Zhang Debiao nodded in satisfaction.
“And you are?” Zhao Yang asked, looking at Zhang Debiao with confusion.
“I am Zhang Debiao!” Zhang Debiao declared.
“Correct. You are to escort him to Hao-ge’s location shortly!” Wu Kexiao quickly confirmed.
“Then let’s hurry. My Regimental Commander said Hao-ge is extremely anxious!” Zhao Yang told Wu Kexiao.
“Let’s go, get in the armored vehicle!” Wu Kexiao said. After inviting Zhang Debiao inside, he followed him in.
“You’re a Corps Commander under Er Lengzi?” Zhang Debiao asked as the vehicle started moving.
“Yes, I am a Corps Commander under Hao-ge!” Wu Kexiao nodded.
“Hmm. An Army Group… so there are several corps, right?” Zhang Debiao asked, sitting comfortably.
“Yes, we have seven corps. I heard we were given the designations for three more today. But our situation here… sigh, you’ll understand when you see Hao-ge!” Wu Kexiao explained!
“Not enough officers who know how to fight, right?” Zhang Debiao guessed.
“Ah?” Wu Kexiao was slightly taken aback by Zhang Debiao’s accurate assessment.
“A bunch of good-for-nothings. With such a powerful nation and so many citizens, to think they’d let themselves be beaten this badly. Er Lengzi is a piece of trash too. What kind of general gets bullied like this?!” Zhang Debiao cursed as he sat there.
“That’s not it! Hao-ge has only been the Commander for about a month. He just graduated from the military academy this summer! He started as a First Lieutenant and rose to Full General in just a few months. That’s already incredibly impressive. If it weren’t for Hao-ge, we would have all died in battle long ago!” Hearing Zhang Debiao disparage Hu Hao, Wu Kexiao immediately defended him.
“Oh, well, that’s more like it. I was wondering how that kid managed to become an Army Group Commander yet still end up in such a miserable state. If that were the case, he’d be due for a beating!” Zhang Debiao nodded.
Wu Kexiao stared at Zhang Debiao, dumbfounded. He knew Zhang Debiao was very close to Hu Hao, but a beating? Wu Kexiao simply couldn’t believe it. Hu Hao was a Full General who commanded hundreds of thousands of troops! Who would dare beat him? Even the Emperor wouldn’t dare!
“This Empire is in trouble!” Zhang Debiao remarked, looking out at the rainy weather from the vehicle.
Wu Kexiao felt a bit intimidated to speak with him, feeling as if the man before him knew everything!
Meanwhile, back at Hu Hao’s location, Hu Hao had emerged from the conference room. The beaming smile on his face was obvious to anyone. He was incredibly excited right now. He truly never expected that, after coming to another world, he would encounter his big brother again! From the bottom of his heart, Hu Hao possessed the utmost respect for him.
“Hao-ge, who exactly is this Zhang Debiao?” Dong Qipeng couldn’t help but ask, seeing Hu Hao sitting there.
“My big brother! Oh, right, let me make this clear to all of you right now: from this day forward, my big brother’s words are my words! His orders are my orders! And remember this well: anyone who offends my big brother will die! And I will do the deed myself!” Hu Hao declared to all the staff officers in the command center.
“Ah?” The staff officers all stared at Hu Hao.
“Just keep that in mind. Furthermore, my big brother is far better at fighting wars than I am. With him here, the brothers’ chances of survival will increase drastically. Therefore, once he arrives, whatever orders he issues, you will execute them! Unconditionally! Do you hear me?!
Don’t you dare look down on him just because he doesn’t hold an official military rank here. To tell you the truth, when it comes to commanding battles, I’m not looking down on anyone when I say this, but across this entire planet, there is NO ONE who can surpass my big brother! Whether it’s the Navy, the Air Force, or the Army, NO ONE is his match!” Hu Hao sat there and addressed them.
In their previous lives, Zhang Debiao had commanded naval, ground, and air forces simultaneously. He managed the Navy exceptionally well and had personally commanded several large-scale naval battles.
Therefore, Zhang Debiao’s arrival wasn’t just ‘adding wings to a tiger’ for Hu Hao. It was providing him with a pillar of support, a source of reliance, and immense confidence!
“Yes, sir!” The staff officers nodded in unison!
“Hao-ge, is your brother… truly that incredible?” Dong Qipeng asked, standing nearby.
“Everything I know about fighting wars, I learned from him!” Hu Hao said, looking at Dong Qipeng.
“Holy shit!” The staff officers’ eyes widened in utter disbelief upon hearing this. Hu Hao’s military prowess was already terrifyingly impressive, yet he actually claimed he learned it all from Zhang Debiao?! How could the staff officers not be shocked?
“Remember, when you have free time, learn a thing or two from my brother! Even if you only pick up a tiny fraction of his skills, it will be more than enough to make you all generals!” Hu Hao gestured with his fingers as he spoke to them!
“Mhm, mhm, mhm!” The staff officers nodded repeatedly.
Hu Hao sat there, constantly checking his watch. Less than two minutes later, he checked it again. Sometimes, unable to sit still, he would walk to the command center entrance and stare toward the east. He was incredibly anxious!
As for Zhang Debiao, seeing that Wu Kexiao wasn’t speaking to him, he couldn’t be bothered to initiate conversation either. After asking how long the trip would take and hearing it was about two hours, Zhang Debiao simply stared out the window. If the other party didn’t want to talk, he wasn’t going to force it.
He just kept checking his watch and looking at the road signs, calculating the distance and estimating how much longer until he could see Hu Hao.
About two hours later, Dong Qipeng received a call from Zhao Yang, reporting that the convoy had entered the city.
“Hao-ge, the convoy has entered the city!” Dong Qipeng relayed to Hu Hao. Hearing this, Hu Hao sprang to his feet and immediately strode to the command center entrance. He stood there, straight as a javelin, perfectly upright. Seeing this, the staff officers also snapped to attention, standing perfectly straight.
Soon, the convoy arrived at the entrance. Stepping out of the vehicle, Wu Kexiao was startled to see Hu Hao standing there so rigidly and solemnly.
He then quickly ran over to Zhang Debiao and said, “Mr. Zhang, we have arrived!”
Hearing this, Zhang Debiao quickly stepped out. Standing there, he instantly spotted Hu Hao. Their eyes met. Although neither possessed their original appearances, they recognized each other in a heartbeat!
“Er Lengzi?” Zhang Debiao stood there, his lips trembling as he called out, his voice instantly choking with emotion.
“Brother!” Upon hearing that word, Hu Hao immediately charged forward, and the two brothers embraced tightly.
“Waaah~~” Hu Hao bawled loudly. He truly never expected to see his big brother here. Back then, he had personally seen his big brother off. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine they would reunite in this world.
“Er Lengzi! You little brat! Ah?! Look at how your brother’s been bullied! Why didn’t you come sooner, you little brat?! Ah~~~” Zhang Debiao hugged Hu Hao, slapping his back with one hand as he cried and yelled.
