Terms of service

You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account, and you are responsible for what happens under it. Keep your password to yourself.

One person, one account. Sharing credentials so several people can read from one subscription is a breach of these terms and may result in suspension.

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to read the chapters available to your account, for your own use.

You may not copy, republish, redistribute, translate, mirror, or feed our chapters into a dataset or scraping pipeline. Automated access of any kind requires written permission.

Embers are a purchased in-app currency with no real-world monetary value. Sparks are earned through quests, cannot be purchased, and expire 90 days after they are granted.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval you select until cancelled. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund a completed cycle.

Ember costs, chapter availability, and tier contents may change. Buying Embers or a subscription does not guarantee access to any particular chapter or future release.

Translations are published under agreement with the rights holders or are original works owned by their authors. Nothing here transfers ownership to you.

If you believe material on Nightjar Reads infringes your rights, follow the process on our DMCA page.

Do not attempt to bypass chapter access controls, probe the service for vulnerabilities without permission, or interfere with other readers' use of the site.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice where practical.

We aim to keep the service running but do not promise uninterrupted availability. Chapters, titles and features may be added, changed, or withdrawn.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from your use of Nightjar Reads is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

We will post material changes to these terms at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that constitutes acceptance.
